وقال هذا الأستاذ في معهد ماساتشوستس للتكنولوجيا (أم أي تي)، المولود في فرنسا لأب تونسي لكنه عاش معظم حياته في الولايات المتحدة، خلال مؤتمر صحافي "كنت معتاداً على عدم التحضير للامتحانات".

خلال امتحانه الأول في جامعة هارفارد، حيث بدأ دراساته العليا، عاش هذا الكيميائي تجربة تحاكي تجارب كثيرين حول العالم.

وقال "نظرتُ إلى السؤال الأول ولم أتمكّن من الإجابة عليه. والأمر نفسه مع السؤال الثاني. وحاولتُ الإجابة على جميع الأسئلة، لكن في النهاية حصلتُ على درجة 20 من 100"، "وقد كانت أدنى درجة في الفصل".

وفاز منجي الباوندي الأربعاء مع عالمَين آخرَين بجائزة نوبل في الكيمياء لعام 2023 عن بحوثهم حول جسيمات نانوية تسمى النقاط الكمومية، تُستخدم حالياً على نطاق واسع، حتى في أجهزة التلفزيون.
