Civil Engineering and Construction AT (IFFT)

What is the Civil Engineering and Construction Technology Program?

The degree of Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering and Construction covers all stages of building design and construction, from the drawing board to the on-site building process. Graduates should be equipped to contribute, together with other civil engineers, to work on projects involving structural design, public works, construction, inspection, transportation, environmental engineering and research laboratories.

What are the goals and learning outcomes?

Graduates of the Bachelor in Civil and Construction Engineering Technology will function effectively as a member of leader on a technical or multidisciplinary team, since they will be able to conduct standardized field and laboratory testing on civil engineering materials. In addition to planning, pre paring and utilizing design construction and operations documents such as specifications, contacts, change orders, engineering drawings and construction.

What are the potential employment opportunities?

By the end of the undergraduate program successful students should be able to find employment as engineering technologists or designers, where they will be planning, designing, inspecting and directing the construction of projects involving buildings, roads, dams, bridges, airports, or wastewater treatment facilities.

Why civil engineering technology?

The goal of the Civil Engineering Department team is, through the training it offers, to open to young people the doors of the professional world. To do this, it involves the student, over a period of three years, in the professional environment through a variety of activities. These consist of courses taught by specialists, two mandatory internships, various projects, and the teaching of communication skills.

What are the higher degree programs that can be pursued after a B-Tech in Civil Engineering has been obtained?

The graduates of the IFFT, holders of a university bachelor degree in technology in the field of Civil engineering can continue their studies and be admitted in Master programs and other engineering schools, elligible to join the order of engineers. They can choose one of the following orientations: structural engineering, Water resources engineering, Environmental engineering, Transportation engineering, surveying, urban engineering...etc
