City University (CITYU) is a private institution of higher education and research, adopting the American system on education. CITYU is located on a hill overlooking the Mediterranean and the city of Tripoli. The university’s various buildings and students’ facilities span over an area of 150000 m2. The campus has many open green areas and the architecture blends within its surrounding environment. 

Faculties and Majors

The university has 7 Faculties that provide 44 fields of specialization which are offered by experienced faculty members and supported by state-of-the-art laboratories, equipment, and amenities tailored to offer its students’ academic excellence. CITYU Architecture students and Engineering students have excelled among other universities and were able to secure positions among the top three in various competitions held by the Order of Engineers for the past several years.

Collaborations and Accreditation

CITYU signed agreements of collaboration with Brunel University (London), Mississippi University (USA), University of Genoa (Italy), the Lebanese University and The Arab Academy for Science and Technology and Maritime Transport (Alexandria) for the furtherance of its students and academic programs. The Business Administration Program has been accredited by the international accrediting agency FIBAA.

 FIBAA

The Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA) is recognized accreditation body in all German speaking countries (Germany-Switzerland-Austria), FIBAA was founded in 2002 to accredit schools of business. Since the launch of the European Bologna Process, along with the transition to bachelor’s and master’s programs and the growing independence available to higher education institutions (HEIs) in designing their degree programs, the call for the HEIs to establish and advance sound and transparent quality assurance systems has grown continuously.

When the accreditation system was established in Germany, FIBAA was founded in 1994 and hence became one of the first agencies to be accredited by the German Accreditation Council. Since 2002, it has been entitled to award the Seal of the Accreditation Council for degree programs in Germany. The FIBAA is organized as a non-profit organization and is headquartered in Bonn, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany as well FIBAA is registered in Zurich, Switzerland.

The FIBAA Foundation Council is the leading board of the foundation. It defines and represents the common interests of the founders and decides on the economic and strategic baselines of FIBAA’s work. The FIBAA Foundation Council assures that FIBAA’s mission is well established in society and its institutions and promotes FIBAA’s overall values of transparency, quality and internationality in the field of higher education.

Career Services

The University offers its students comprehensive career development and employment assistance. Services include help with acquiring on-campus and off-campus students’ employment. Career Services provides opportunities and resources for students to investigate major career possibilities through career and job fairs.

Financial Aid

As part of its social responsibility and in alignment with its mission to offer quality higher education to all members of society, CITYU has put forth various financial aid plans. Students are offered generous financial aid to their tuition. In addition, CITYU has a merit scholarship policy. Students at CITYU can pay for part of their tuition by referring to the career center in order to help them work at the University.

Campus Life

CITYU campus life is not limited to classroom instruction.  A university that seeks to graduate well-rounded individuals must educate the mind as well as the soul. Accordingly, in addition to providing a first class education, CITYU encourages freedom of self-expression and instills in its students a culture of openness, tolerance, and inclusion. Moreover, the numerous clubs and societies available at CITYU campus allow its students to engage in extra-curricular activities that foster cooperation and camaraderie among the student body.
