Undergraduate and Graduate Tuition In many Universities For 2013-2014

 

Arab Open University (AOU)

Owing to the financial support of the Arab Gulf Fund (AGFUND), the cost of one credit hour does not exceed $66, which implies that the cost of tuition for the whole academic year does not exceed $1950 for a full-time student. Packages are priced separately. A fee of 35 USD per each registered student (excluding summer) for technical support.

American University of Beirut (AUB)

Fees at AUB are assessed on a per-credit basis based on a maximum of 15 credit hours per semester. Students enrolling for more than 15 credit hours may do so at no additional charge. Prospective students should also bear in mind that the cost of their education at AUB typically will include additional expenses such as student housing, food expenses, medical insurance and social security fees.

Financial Aid

AUB’s financial aid program has grown to its present level of more than $14 million in awards annually, through the generous support of AUB’s alumni and friends. We expect our total budget for financial aid to more than double over the next four years.

AUB’s Office of Financial Aid has devised several types of need-based assistance programs. These include grants based on the financial status of the student’s family, student loans at low interest rates and favorable repayment options, academic merit scholarships, work study programs that allow students to finance their education while acquiring professional skills at various offices in the University, and assistantships for graduate students.

Lebanese American University (LAU)

 

All undergraduate students taking between 12 and 18 credits pay a flat-fee tuition per term. Credits beyond 18 are charged at the per-credit rate. Medical students pay a fixed annual fee. All other students are charged at the per-credit rate.

  • For undergraduate programs the tuition of all full time students taking between 12 credits and 18 credits is charged per semester. Part-Time students taking less than 12 credits and credits taken during summer are charged on a per credit basis.
  • The tuition fees of graduate programs are charged on a per credit basis.
  • Medical School tuition is on annual basis.

The cost of a credit varies between 100 USD and 350 USD according to the studies program and the chosen specialization.

Registration fees 150 USD per semester(not applicable for the summer session) NSSF membership fees 100 USD per academic year(these fees installed in advance upon registration will be credited to the accounts of students who are already affiliated to the NSSF or any equivalent fund and who have submitted the required documents for this purpose.) Tuition fees Between 100 USD and 350 USD
NB : the cost of a credit does not depend on the student’s concerned Faculty/Institute but on the Faculty/Institute which offers the credit in question.
Example :  a student enrolled in the undergraduate studies program at the Faculty of Business and Commercial Sciences pays 220 USD for one credit of a business course while he pays 120 USD for one credit of a language course. These prices are applicable in all the USEK branches. However, students registered in one of the three Regional University centers automatically benefit from a 20% reduction on their tuition fees; this 20% reduction does not apply to the application fees (100 USD), registration fees (150 USD) and NSSF fees (100 USD).
The cost of a credit is subject to change; all likely modifications of a credit cost are reported in advance to students through bulletin boards, the University’s website and MyUSEK. It is the responsibility of each student to keep abreast with the University’s news and announcements by regularly consulting these means of communication.

LIBRARY AND LABORATORY DEPOSIT FEE
A library and laboratory deposit fee of L.L 250,000 is required of every student enrolling in UOB. This deposit is held until the student graduates or discontinues his course of study, at which time the deposit, minus debts incurred, will be returned.

NATIONAL SOCIAL SECURITY FUND (NSSF)-MEDICAL BRANCH
Lebanese Law requires Lebanese students to enroll in the NSSF medical branch. The fee for the year is L.L. 150,000, i.e, 30 % of the legal minimum salary.

STUDENT ACTIVITY FEE
A fee of L.L. 145,000 is charged every semester to cover student activities.

INTERNET FEE
A fee of L.L. 35,000 is charged every semester to cover student internet services.

LATE REGISTRATION FEE
A L.L. 100,000 late registration fee is charged to all students who register during the late registration period.

DEFERRED PAYMENT
Students who fail to honor a deferred payment arrangement are charged a late payment fee of L.L 50,000.

METHOD OF PAYMENT
Payment should be made by certified bank check or banker’s check payable to the University of Balamand at the Cashier’s Office or in the University’s bank accounts, which will be announced at a later date.

WITHDRAWALS
If a duly registered student withdraws for justifiable reasons, the following refund schedule will be applied:

1. Before the official beginning of classes                   75% of tuition
2. During the first week of classes                              50% of tuition
3. During the second week of classes                         25% of tuition

Refunds are not made for the summer session.
