USEK 8 Humanities and Social Sciences Degree Programs accredited by “Evalag”
During the last years, achieving programs accreditation became a top priority at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK) where most of the academic units are seeking international labels whether European or American for their degree programs. In 2017, eight Humanities and Social Sciences degree programs were awarded the Evalag international label for Programme Accreditation:
- Faculty of letters: BA in History, BA in Journalism and Communication, BA in Languages and Literatures, BA in Modern Languages and Translation.
- Faculty of Philosophy and Humanities: BA in Education - Basic Education, BA in Philosophy, BA in Psychology, and BA in Social Sciences.
USEK celebrated this achievement on November 13, 2017, with the participation of the Academic and Research Council members, deans, students, Faculty and staff and with the presence of Mr. Georg Seppman, Evalag representative and H.E. Mr. Melhem Riachi, Minister of Information and Faculty member at the Journalism and Communication Department at USEK.
“It is through our Humanities and Social Sciences education, that we shove towards securing our students with the spiritual and moral values, cultural pluralism and communication skills for their personal and professional growth”, Reverend Father Professor Georges Hobeika, USEK President said on this occasion.
Within the same context and on the institutional level, USEK has been re-awarded in 2017 the Evalag European Institutional Accreditation for another five years.
Dr. Georges Yahchouchi, USEK Provost reaffirms “Earning international institutional and programs accreditations at USEK is a goal of top priority”.
In addition to the Evalag European Institutional Re-Accreditation and the International Accreditation for 8 Humanities and Social Sciences programs, USEK is providing its students across all programs with the highest academic standards and labor market needs by getting the ABET Accreditation for 9 Computing and Engineering programs, the AACSB Eligibility for Business Programs, the NAAB Eligibility for the Architecture Program and the list goes on; as this academic year started with a successful ABET site visit for the accreditation of Civil Engineering, the Actuarial and Financial Mathematics, and the Nursing Sciences program…
It is a time of rejoice and at the same a time to keep the commitment as the key for continuous excellence!
