2014 QS Rankings: AUB leads Arab universities in faculty citations and employer reputation
At 249, AUB has nudged forward, up from 250 last year.
AUB scored highest among Arab universities in terms of faculty citations and employer reputation, indicating quality research and excellence in education.
This year, AUB’s employer reputation shot up by 11 percent, which means that AUB grads are in high demand by potential employers; while faculty citations increased by 12 percent, compared to last year. On the other hand, the international student score decreased by 8 percent. This has been attributed to the turmoil the region is going through, making it less attractive to international students. Similarly, academic reputation has improved by 4.4 percent while the student-to-faculty ratio has slightly decreased by 4 percent.
Meanwhile, AUB came in second regionally, after King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, which led with its overall score of 225. However, AUB held its spot as the leading Lebanese university.
